What is Food

Food is an edible substance which is eaten to sustain life through growth, building up of tissues, maintenance and repairs of body processes and provision of warmth. next to air we breathe and the water we drink, the next item to human existence is food.

 It therefore follows that no matter how bad the economy is an individual need food to survive.it is not as if food is not available but what is important is how many families have adequate food intake daily?

what is the rational that we are having Nigerian when we cannot afford three square meals a day?

Basically, the Nigerian meal pattern consist of three meals a day (breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).these are formulated from the cultural food items which are mainly carbohydrates.

Food is human survivor, food is life, food for everyone.

The food we eat have faced major classifications, namely:

In conclusion the importance of managing meals for the family is to ensure that family members consume nourishing meal everyday .

However, the implication of this is that each day's meal must contain all the classes of the food nutrients. At least one orange, banana, apples or slices of pawpaw of pineapple will meet up the daily requirement.

Moreover, the vegetables can go directly into our meals during preparation.it is also important to note the so called iced fish supply the same for nutrients as other types of fish and meat do. people should feel free to use them in meeting up the daily requirement of protein supplies especially for young children.
